Danny,  you were such a fun guy.  I remember playing basketball with you and your brother Bobby.  From grammer school to high school, we had some fun times.  I will never forget you my friend.

Your friend always,

Danny, my Brother I miss so very much his handsome face and smile. He was always so much fun to be with. All the girls seem to think so too..
Ralph Carmona - March 17th, 2014
Danny  & Bobby lived across the street from me for a short while and we used to play street baseball and football. Suddenly they both disappeared and popped up at Garfield. We never was close; but then I was never close to the crowd of athletes and scholars.  I am clueless on what Danny and his brother, Bobby, did with their life. But I do remember admiring the guy when we were in elementary.  I think he introduced me to the technique of polishing your tennis shoes black. So big a deal at that time in life and he had back then a confidence that I lacked. What happened, and why, since then to now, is in the uncertainty of life.

My Friend & Brother Danny,

It doesn't seem long ago we were playing Pop Warner football at Grant Rae Park in Montebello.  It was a simple life back then, however bonds were made with Manuel Castanon, Ray Galarze, your brother Bobby and I.  We carried that bond into Garfield High until yesterday when we said good-bye.  You will be missed but not forgotten. We did mourn your passing yesterday, however, we did rejoice because we know you are in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It has been a pleasure sharing life with you and I look forward to seeing you again. Good-bye my friend & brother.

Ruben

Mooney,
Dear, Dear, Dear, Friend Mooney.  How you kept me laughing  all through "History " period.  You were the reason why I looked forward to that  class.  Everyday was always different as you entertained me with your comical ways.  I was again heartbroken to see your photograph in the "Memories" Tab.  No, No, not Mooney. I do remember our last conversation, and our last meeting. I am happy to say it was at a dance hall, and you stood by me and did not leave my side until the end of the event.Even though I was with my date, you bless me with your presence, and not knowing it would be "OUR" last. Here in my heart you shall live forever.  May we see each other again Mooney in our Eternal Life with God's Will and Blessings.  I shall include you in my daily prayers, and keep your memory always in my heart.  Love you my Dear, Dear, Friend....Mooney......

Hey Tony, we all miss you.  I thank God for letting me talk to you again.  When we talked, it was like we never left Garfield, you still had that suave sense of humor and were cracking jokes like before.  Tony, you will be surely missed!

I remember Tony as he is a brother of a very good friend of mine, Viginia. Tony always looked so handsome and he always had a smile to offer to everyone. I am saddened at his passing and more saddened for my dear friend Virginia who I know will forever miss her dear brother who was truly loved and cherished. Rest in peace Tony.

Gay was a very sweet and wonderful person. she lived down the street from us. She loved her family and friends very much. Especially loved her dad. Her dad was very supportive and showed up to Garfield football games. Dispite his wearing his Roosevelt High Letterman sweater. It was so sad when he passed away. She cried on my shoulder and I cried with her. She was a child of God. Should  her younger brothers Sammy, Danny, or Michael are still around please write me at recyclemanny@yahoo.com or call me at 661 3450316

I knew Willie in High School but became better friends in College. He seemed always in a good mood and always had a genuine grin. I believe his girl friend in college name was Pat Botello. It’s been many years ago. Almost 50 years. RIP old buddy.
